Juliette van der Meijden grew up between different cultures and was given two nationalities at birth: Dutch and Brazilian. Interculturality is her second nature - she speaks Dutch, Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian.
She is a registered urban designer and consultant, with more than fifteen years of experience in Europe. Prior to her practice in The Netherlands, Juliette studied and worked in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
She has a degree in Urban Design by the Academie van Bouwkunst, Rotterdam (1992) and one in Architecture form the Faculdades Integradas Bennett, Rio de Janeiro (1981).
Her work is committed to strategic thinking and designing innovative solutions for cities in the world, combining a vast experience of design related research with academic and practical experience.
Juliette van der Meijden is co-founder of numerous international initiatives, such as Stadslab European Urban Desgin Laboratory, Favas Designers for natural urbanity and Alliance NL an architect's innovative collective for China.
